Regular coffee consumption was associated with lower liver fat, fibrosis, inflammation, and iron accumulation, along with a reduced risk of cirrhosis, liver cancer, and liver-related mortality. Interestingly, similar benefits were observed with both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, suggesting that bioactive compounds such as chlorogenic acids and polyphenols, not caffeine alone, may play a key role.

For the nutraceutical industry, these findings strengthen the scientific rationale for exploring coffee-derived bioactives in liver health formulations. While further clinical intervention studies are needed to establish causality, the research adds to the growing evidence supporting food-based bioactives for preventive health and precision nutrition.

Source : https://www.cedars-sinai.org/newsroom/study-new-biological-clues-behind-coffees-benefit-to-liver-health

A large prospective study involving more than 354,000 participants combined MRI imaging and blood proteomics to uncover the biological mechanisms behind coffee’s long-observed liver health benefits.
